Current Research Interests
I am currently working on the different circumstances that surround and provide a place for a baby’s life and existence. How is that place built and what’s it made of? I am exploring the impact of family history and other unconscious elements that may have a bearing on conception or its failure, intrauterine life and/or its loss, birth and the weeks that follow after a baby has been born. Some questions considered: Why do some women fail to get pregnant for a while but then they succeed? What is there for conception to finally take place? If there were unconscious elements blocking fertilisation, ovulation, implantation of the egg; what could they have been? And, is there a difference amongst these problems? Why are some pregnancies lost to miscarriage and others are not? What could we learn from stillborn babies and SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome)?
